ABOUT US

The Aged Care Evaluation Unit (ACEU) is a leading dementia research group dedicated to improving outcomes for older people living with dementia and their carers. Based across Southern NSW Local Health District and the Australian National University, ACEU conducts collaborative, co-designed research that informs evidence-based dementia support training, dementia volunteer training, dementia care practice, health service delivery, and aged care policy.

Our mission is to conduct collaborative, co-designed research informed by clinical need that transforms health and aged care provision and policy, delivering meaningful outcomes for people living with dementia, their families, and carers. Led by Associate Professor Katrina Anderson, ACEU evaluates psychosocial interventions and partners with consumers, clinicians, aged care providers, and community organisations to ensure research is relevant, practical, and impactful. We currently hold two Medical Research Future Fund grants and are committed to translating evidence into real-world improvements in dementia care and support.
